ADVANCED SEARCH ENGINE PLACEMENT TIPS

The title of your site is extremely important. It is mandatory that you use your keywords in your title. Do not make the common mistake of using your business name in the title. Unless you spent millions of dollars on advertising most people are not going to be searching for your site under your corporate name. Use as many of your keywords as possible and your geographic location, if it is relevant to your business.

Most search engines will only read up to a certain number of characters. Anything you list above that might have an adverse effect and cause you to be not list properly.. If you keep your maximum number of characters in your title to 60 of less you will be safe on all the major search engines.

A similar rule is true for the description and for the keywords of your site. If you keep your description and keyword character total to under 140 characters, you will be safe on all the major search engines. The description and keywords must directly relate to the content of the page they are on. Try to always keep continuity with you title and remember that the text content is how it is displayed is now the most important factor.

Use your keywords in the visible test area of your hyper links. It is also a good idea to name your .htm page with a keyword that is relevant to the page.

The concept to keep in mind is that your targeted keywords have to be in your title, your description, the body of the text of your page and in hyper links at least two to three times.
